It’s simple to participate-

 

Take Your Photo within one of Laguna’s marine protected areas between January 1st and January 15th. One photo per person.

 

The photo can be taken on the beach with family & friends, underwater, on a kayak or SUP and of any subject you wish. This photo by Sandy Lee is of Ochre Stars that are seen in our tidepools.

 

Send it to info@lagunabluebelt.org before January 15th. Include your name, email and the location, time & date of the photo. You can add a caption to your photo if you feel creative. Photos will be posted to our website and we will send winning photographs to the local newspapers.

 

Photo categories include General, Youth, On the Water (Kayak or SUP), and Under the Water (Scuba or Snorkeling).

One Photo Per Entry or Person.

 

Photographs must be 12 megabytes or smaller, must be in JPEG or JPG format, and must be at least 1,600 pixels wide in its smallest dimension.

 

Winners will be selected by members of the Laguna Bluebelt Coalition based on representation of the category, aesthetic value, and technical skill.

 

Photos must be a single work of original material taken by the contest entrant and have been taken inside the Laguna Bluebelt

 

We are adopting the Conservation Rules established by EPIC®. Marine life should never be stressed or endangered for the sake of a photo.

 

By submitting to this contest, you agree that your photos can be used by the Laguna Bluebelt Coalition with appropriate credit and that the photographer retains all copyrights. Entry constitutes permission by the Laguna Bluebelt Coalition to publish and otherwise use the photo for all public relations and marketing purposes. The photographs will not be used for any commercial purposes.

 

*Winning photos will be displayed at the Laguna Bluebelt Awards Ceremony during Underwater Parks Day on Jan. 21, 2012, as well as on the Bluebelt website, Facebook pages and in newsletters.
